The Rotary Club of Tottington and Bury West is delighted to announce that following last year’s success we will once again be taking part in the “Wrap Up” Scheme in Bury by collecting donated warm coats which are then given to charities helping people in greatest need. We will be covering the Bury area with assistance from the borough’s other Rotary Clubs.

There are many people in Bury who live in very difficult circumstances who we know will struggle to keep warm during the coming winter. Family budgets are being stretched by rising food and fuel prices and the ongoing uncertainty following the pandemic. Within our community there are also homeless people, refugees and asylum seekers, women and children who have escaped family abuse. Please help by providing us with coats which can then be distributed to those most in need.

We are asking members of our community to bring clean, warm winter coats for adults and children in good condition to collection points and place them in collection boxes. There is a particular need for coats for children of all ages. The boxes will be clearly marked with the “Wrap Up” logo and placed in several locations in the Bury area.

The donated coats will be taken to a central location for sorting and then distributed via a range of charitable organisations in the Bury area. Among the receiving charities will be children’s centres, organisations supporting the elderly and organisations helping people in crisis. Included in the list of charities are The Eagles Wing, the BAME Project, homeless charities and food banks, who will all ensure that your donations are distributed to those individuals and families in the area who are most in need.

Please bring your donated coats and place them in the “Wrap Up” collection boxes in one of the locations. We would like to thank these organisations for their generous support of this very worthy cause.

The “Wrap Up” collection boxes will be in place from Monday 24th October and the campaign will last for two weeks ending on Sunday 6th November.
